I guess sarcasm doesn't transmit well.
BTW, Flite: Hardog Fabrication (AKA Bethania Garage) is located in Bethania, NC... probably not far from you. They are very friendly and knowledgeable people. I'm sure they can answer any question you may have and make a suggestion.

Oh, it did. But I thought the guy with the reasonable question deserved a straight answer.
I just purchased a used Elda Bar. My understanding is HardDog modified the original design, after buying the rights, and it isn't quite as good.
They may not be available new, but they can be found, web site or not.

Wow really? So I guess I read the stickied post about them for no real reason. Does that make Harddog the only viable option?
Regardless of what their website says, their rollbar design is infact completed.
They've also worked closely with SCCA on the design aspects.

Um yeah. I'm sure it will.
Don't let the fact that they have been out of business for about five years get in the way of those refresh clicks.

Let me see if I can explain the timeline here.
ELDA started up their business with a rollbar that was very carefully designed to work within the exaxt constrains of meeting SCCA regs, allowing the softtop to operate as normal, and allowing the OEM 3-pts to be retained.
ELDA sold a bunch of them, but then later decided to wrap up the business.
ELDA sold the design to Go-Fast Labs.
Go-Fast Labs worked with Bethenia Garage (aka Harddog) to put the design back into production, but they "improved" it without understanding why ELDA had used a thick spacer pad under the rear stays. This caused a conflict with the OEM 3-pts.
Go-Fast Labs went out of business.
Harddog eventually continued the production, and now offers several variants of the bar for sale. I think maybe they went back to the original ELDA design in terms of the rear stays, thus resolving the OEM belt issue.
Since this bar seems to have contributed to not one but two businesses going out of business, it seems like Harddog must be gamblers!

I bought and installed the HardDog bar last Feb. Quick turnaround, and the bar bolted in with no problems (other than disassembly, trimming, and reassembly of interior plastics being a bigger pita than anticipated).
I'm using the stock belts, btw.
