Hi there. I've been looking into getting a cage for my car but haven't really found anything I like thats out there. I contacted a friend of mine who builds off-road race trucks for a living and he is very interested in producing a roll cage/bar for our cars. My question is what is everyone else interested in, a cage or just a bar? Also what price range would you expect to pay for something like this? One last question, I believe I've read in the past that the 00-01's have a different fittament for roll bars then the 02-03's. Is this true? Please post interest in what you would like to see made so I can bring it back to my friend.

I'm more interested in a bar than a cage since my car is still streeted and I don't think it looks good with the top down and a full cage sitting there. Others, such as Krazik and DavePK, may have more interest in a full cage. As far as a bar goes I think my needs will be met by Elda Engineering's design as seen here:

Kevin, use the Elda one and Bitterman bars as points of referance. Thats whats available so far in the states. Mugen, Spoon, and Cusco also have a more detailed cage design. Take a look at those as well

roll bar that comes with a custom interior piece that replaces stock plastic cover would be nice.

 

I swore I posted on this thread.....anyhow, there is a difference in the 00-01 and the 02+ fittaments, but there was actually more convertible top clearance with the Bitterbar in the '02 than there was in the plastic-windowed S2Ks. The bar that came out of DavePKs fit just fine in my '02.
