Default Rollbar for HPDE

I will mostly be tracking at Summit point raceway and would like to know if there are any rollbars out there that meet SCCA specs?

Cliffs Notes:

The GFL bar is a slight redesign of an older Elda roll bar that has been discontinued. Currently, the GFL is redesigning their original release to accomodate for reinstallation of the factory roll bars and reuse of the factory seatbelt mounting points. The re-release is still TBA. Other than stumbling onto an old Elda bar or waiting for the GFL bar, your other option is something custom.

I'll look for you at Summit next year

Obviously you don't either!
I don't get it. The OP didn't ask whether or not you need an SCCA approved bar to run at Summit, he asked:
would like to know if there are any rollbars out there that meet SCCA specs?
So I directed to the GFL thread:
Hardcore Bar (welded Diagonal - SCCA)
Touring Bar (removable Diagonal - SCCA)

And my comment was more tongue in cheek than anything else. No offense intended, thus the .
So, ligthen up folks.

I don't see how me having information about a particular roll bar has anything to do with knowing the requirements of a track that I'll probably never use in my life. That's info I don't need to know. That GFL thread has been on the first page for months.

Just from browsing this board the past couple months I quickly learned that there aren't many choices out there other than custom. But regardless of requirements, the GFL bar is a lot safer than the stock roll bars.

BTW, answer, if you just want a bar that doesn't have to meet SCCA specs, someone is selling the original "Bitterman bar" on the FS forum for about $300-350. That was one of the very first bars created by Aaron Bitterman (speedventures.com) specifically for the S other than custom bar and maybe $$ JDM stuff(?) I don't know much about the bar, just passing on the info.

Also, I had a deposit on a GFL bar, but decided to wait until next summer to start tracking my S. They refunded my deposit right away. So if you don't want the hassle of taking off your stock hoops, place your deposit with confidence. GFL are stand up folks.

Uh, you do have to remove the stock roll hoops if you want to use the GFL bar in its current form. The Bitterman bar is too heavy and big. I had a guy offer me one for free.

And if you read my entire post, I addressed the fact that I hadn't completed my "Hooked-on-Phonics" course. As for the reference to a refund, I'm sure I'd get a refund for the bar. It's the return shipping that I wonder about. I have purchased their oil pan and the BSK, so it's not like i haven't dealt with them before now. Heck, I even gave them more money than they charged me for the bar because I'm honest.

unless you wana run with NASA at summit point you wont need a bar.
FATT, Carguys, PSA, Redline, etc dont require them.

if you really want one id pick up Skips...

and the name of the shop is Piper Motersports in Sterling. You get exactly what you want there, but youll pay for it.

Hmmm...is this from first hand experience? From talking with the head of NASA Mid-Atlantic, I was told that you needed a roll bar that went over your head for any of their events (ie passes the broomstick test). Again, this is only NASA Mid-Atlantic that I am referring to.
