It sure looks like your helmet is sticking above the plane of the windshield and the roll bar.
It looks that way because my helmet was sticking up above the roll bar . That was before I installed a race seat and lowered my seating position to the point where I was below the bar.

If so, this really isn't anything like adequate roll protection, especially since you are still using the stock seat belt.
In my opinion, it is safer to be in a stock seat with the OEM 3-point belts than a multi-point harness.

thanks... do you have any idea if this bar meets Time Trial requirements for NASA Florida?
I do not know, but think not since the rear supports do not have enough of an included angle (with the main hoop).

You mean, "If you are in a stock seat, then it is safer to use the OEM 3-pt than to use a multi-point harness"? Did I parse that correctly? If so, I agree with you.

Thanks for the clarification Mike - that is what I meant.

Furthermore - if you are in a stock seat using the OEM 3-point belts, you are safer with a higher rollbar than the stock roll hoops.

I am 6'1", but I have an extremely long torso for my height. When my brother (who stands 6' 5" tall) and I sit next to each other, I am "taller".

I used a Sparco Roadster Seat on modified Taitec rails. I had the rails modified at a local race fabricator to give an additiona 1" of drop for a total of about 3" drop. The bottom of the seat slid along the carpeting.

Here's a link to a previous thread on this topic with photos of my installation.

To those who are serious about the GFL Bars - - or maybe just curious. I was offered a refund to my credit-card in an e-mailed today by someone from the GFL. This news may not be good, but some people will still want to know about an improved version and maybe even a new product "release" date. Here is what was told:

"There won

jdeacon, I received the same e-mail and shipped my bar back today. I also ordered a Safety21 bar from BPA today. If, between now and the time my imported bar reaches the shores of liberty, someone comes up with a relatively non-intrusive, truly safety-minded bar, I would consider purchasing it and selling the Safety21. I just can't go into next year without some kind of backup plan, thus ordering the Safety21 bar.
