And with only 1.5" X .125" DOM steel it's not NHRA legal either.
Doesn't matter, because with the power I'm putting down NHRA wouldn't let me run without a full cage.

I'm close...

The new rules for 2007 are anything 11.49 or quicker requires a 1.75 OD 5 point bar or better.

wow... impressive.

for once someone puts the harness bar in the right place.
It's easy to put the bar in the right place if you're willing to make compromises on how (or if) the interior goes back together.

I'm not sure if I like that curve in the harness bar right where the outer shoulder belt would attach. Seems the belt could slip forward in a violent crash, unless a ring clamp or something is attached also to prevent this.

edit: on second look, doesn't seem that this would happen in a crash, but seems you would always have to make sure the belt is on the straight part of the bar (to keep both belts close and centered, especially for HANS) before locking in, so I'd still use a ring clamp to prevent this movement.

If you are talking about mine, the shoulder line up perfectly, and, in addition, ring clamps keep them alligned.

Without a diagonal it won't be SCCA leagal for autocross either.
I thought a roll bar wasn't even required for SCCA autoX.

Are you legal with no bar, but illegal with a bar without a diagonal?

Yup. You are legal with no bar in most classes, but if you have a bar it has to meet specs. Or maybe that's just if you have harnesses then the bar needs to meet specs?

Anyway, just look up the GCRs.

Correct. If you run harnesses in a convertible, it must have a bar that meets the GCR specs. If you're not running harnesses, then no bar is required.

So if I'm *not* running harnesses, I can run with a roll bar that doesn't have a diagonal, no?
