Default Running turned rotors?

I've got at least 3 full sets of old s2k rotors laying around and was thinking of getting them turned. I had an old track guy tell me one time he'd never run turned rotors, because even at factory thresholds turning them compromises their integrity for track use. While this kind made sense, I figured he might just be playing it safe too. Anyone running turned rotors out there for track duty?

I'm a mechanic and have a lathe at work. Even being able to turn them for free it's not worth it to me. They're just too cheap new to make it worth the risk of shaving them down to get a little more time out of them.

I have a decent set of take-offs that I had sand blasted, I carry these as spares.

I didn't think twice about it. Admittedly when I turned them they showed no signs of surface cracks; I was skimming the pad deposits.

Anecdotally, through "normal" track abuse my rear URGE rotors have worn from 15.5 to 15.1mm.

Rotors are too inexpensive not to just replace. I would not get yeaitshonda to use his lathe at work for me

I agree, for track use get new rotors. There's too much at risk.
