That's more or less what I'm thinking of right now. I'm just considering whether to go with a cage rather than a bar.

Would you prefer to try the rollbar with the stock seat or Recaro SPG (or both)?
Hmm. I really have to make sure that I can get over there and take a look. Sounds like your cars can tell me a lot more about this than a zillion posted messages.

Stock seat is in the white car and an SPG in the racecar. I have another SPG for the white car we can swap in also (if you fit in the one in the racecar) to check head clearance with the Elda. You'll also get to see what it's like getting in and out over the X-style door brace for the cage.
You can drive around the block to see what JRZ's with 750 lb springs feel like also .

Driving a car with a roll-cage on the street without a helmet for any amount of time, is absolutely unacceptable. If safety is of any concern, under no circumstances should you consider this as a viable option.
Of course you are fully aware of this, and the risks to your noggin involved, but without a trailer, you are setting yourself up for a potentially devastating scenario that can be avoided.
IMO, you would be better served with a welded in roll-bar similar to mine and Ry's previously. That way when you are ready to take the plunge with a full-cage+trailer+rig, you will only have to complete the front section.

Yeah, if I went full cage I would just wear the helmet and harness on the drive to the track. No biggie. Gotta take the helmet anyway.
On really long trips I could probably borrow/rent a trailer and my Dad's F250.

I don't know about you, but wearing a helmet for an extra 4-6 hours is quite fatiguing on the neck muscles. Not sure how close you like to the venues. Hopefully you have a padded neck brace.
