Your gonna blow out your rear end on your first race day. If you want to drag race the s put in an 8.8 Ford rear end in.

You don't need anything. Cages and other saftey devices are only required if the car is faster than a predetermined time/speed set by the track operators. A stock s2000 is not fast enough to need anything other than a seatbelt.

Ok thanks man my friend was trying to say I need a roll bar or something but I think I'm still going to get a 6 or a 4 pt cage just for safety. Any ideas on what is good and not going to kill my pocket ? Thanks.

safety is not something you cheap out on...that being said most 4pt and 6pt cages are designed for roadracing and autox not drag racing...

Check us out in the Forced Induction forum, lots of drag racers in there. As the S2k in stock form is a low 14-mid 13 second car stock, your not gonna need any safety gear other than a helmet and seatbelt. Drag racing the S is great fun, but it was not built for the 1320. The diff and axles do not like the heavy shock loads, and repeated hard launches will destroy them quickly. If you really wanna drag race, call up Full Blown motorsports for there 8.8 rear diff and V160 trans swap kits. Plan on spending about 10k and you can have a reliable drag racer. Otherwise make a few easy passes and park it and watch.
