But you have to think though... when the car is dirty, it affects the aerodynamics of the car. So maybe waxing is worth the extra ounces... hehe...

Less wax equals less weight or dirt creates air turbulence. You make the call.

 

Time to start removing the melt sheets, and reducing the wire looms, eliminating all the circuits you don't need. Take the IP out, get rid of all the AC and stereo harness, and air bag crap.

Okay, back on topic. Charlie, the owner of CSN motorsports (they work on Graham Rahal's cars on a weekly basis) has suggested removing the soft top motor, making it a manual top. Honestly, I like this idea because it gives you the weight savings of a hard top but it's still a convertible. Can anybody chime in on whether this is possible. Has it ever been done, weight savings, drawbacks, etc?

^ Like I said, I've never heard of it being done. However, Charlie does some crazy stuff. The Lotus Exige he had in the shop last week, he did custom dry carbon rear quarters with brake ducts and a custom dry carbon spoiler. Two weeks ago he had a Veyron in there. I trust his judgement but I just wanted to see if anybody on here had done it.
