Additionally, I believe that saying that dropping 1 pound of rotational weight is equal to dropping 4 pounds of dead weight is a GROSS exaggeration. It should be more like 1.5 to 2 times.
The only rotational mass this would apply to is the Rear whees, Flywheel, and driveshaft/axels.

So the more weight you remove from them the more of the engine's energy is transfered to the pavement. So if you removed 10lbs of weight by swapping to lighter REAR wheels it would be like removing 40lbs of dead weight from your car. (in terms of how said weight affects accleration)

additionally unsprung weight (weight which is not supported by the springs) will have a similar effect on handling. if you remove 20lbs between the four wheels, suspension or brakes. It would be the same as removing 80lbs from the overall mass of the car (in terms of how it affects the car's handling)

For example: here is some real world theory in action:

99 mecury cougar: weight reduction 2700lbs w/engine mods. (numbers are based on an average over min of 10 runs per set. I found the runs to be produce very consistant numbers.)

37.5lb 19" wheels 14.7 @ 92.3
39.5lb 16" wheels 14.7 @ 90.8

2lb heavier wheels/tire combo = about 1.5 mph slower ET in the 1/4

Great write-up

And by the way,
Spoon monoblock calipers are highly recommended (2.6kg against 4.7kg each! Pounds are too difficult for me ) and you can stop cracking rotors.
Just be careful to clear the calipers. With VolkCE28N 17 x 7.5 +43 you still need a minimum 3mm spacer (more weight )!

and yes, stock terminals are too large for the Spoon battery posts but you can use the Spoon earth cabling. And smaller terminals => less weight again!

FWIW I don't walk to work because it has been over 90 degrees out and I work in a very professional environment with mostly millionaires. I think it would be poor form to show up to work with sweat stains in the armpits of a $200 shirt. Also, I still have to drive to lunch about 10 miles away every day. I have definitely considered monoblock calipers. I am most likely getting the Feels battery and relocating it to the trunk. I was just given Hyper Rev vol. 46 by the manager of CSN motorsports. He said he can get me virtually anything in there (they specialize in getting impossible to find parts for classic Ferraris and Porsches). Also, I have just gotten a side job at Mead Engineering. I've only had the car for about 7 months, so give me one more winter to have this thing ripped apart in my garage. It will most likely be <2500 lbs by next spring
