You can slide them. depending on your seat the inside lever can be difficult to reach. I attatched a velcro strap to mine so I can reach it easily.

Or you can use a long zip tie since it can swivel on the lever.

Yes, a long zip tie on the inside lever of the Taitec works very well. In the lock position (lever down), the zip tie is pointing forward by the floor, so out of the way, but very simple to grab and pull up to release, pull down to lock.
