all additional hardware needed to install such a seat will end up weighing more than stock. 4 people (including myself) all have/had sparco seats and we all agree that the swap overall weighed alot more than the stock setup (92 integ, 96 integ, 91 mr2, 92 sentra)

I dont know what seats you you used or what your stocks seat weigh, but i can tell you that for sure the stock seats in the s2k weigh a lot. The Sparco Rev comes in two materials, fiber glass and carbon fiber. They weigh 15 and 9 pounds each respectively. Competition brackets dont weigh too much on top of that. Im guessing the factory seats weigh ateast 50 pounds a piece so you can do the math. Either one is definitely lighter then the OEM set up. Leather is heavy.
Okay, so i was completely out of range. But still, the brackets are not going to weigh 17 pounds a side.
Prolene, you went with the Mugen seats and brackets correct? What they weigh complete with harware?

wow, 23lbs? was that w/ the normal steel base plate, sliders, and brackets?
My hardware was about 15-20lbs not including my seat or the bolts. They had cool aluminum hardware but for the money I would rather spend it on go-fast parts and just remove the weight from another part of the car.
Also, all the adjustable seats (like the torino) are quite heavy.
