The thing that interests me is that I could automate it. (That's what my day job is).

I could connect an air solenoid to it and push buttons. Very simple logic could be added not to allow downshifts when the rpm is already above 6000 lets say. Bliping the throttle would be relatively easy as well.

And last, but not least, no chance of grabbing a wrong gear would be very good as well.
That would be awsome

I've faxed off their form for a quote. I'll let everyone know what I find out.

Wow...this is a lot cheaper than paying $10,000 for the real deal. Neat idea and it looks like the execution is solid. The guy in the first Lotus rolls through 50 gear changes in 2 minutes or so...

Cool idea!

No man, that's all manual. That's the difference between an "H" pattern synchro tranny and a sequential dog box. Watch the video closely. On the upshifts you can see his right knee lift slightly and on downshifts you can see his left lag move. Near binary clutch, near instant shifts. You would have a very tough time coming up with an electronic version which worked that quickly.

Left foot movement is probably for braking since the right foot doesn't seem to leave the throttle. But still possibly a sequential dogbox as I don't use the clutch on downshifts either in my H-pattern non-sequential dogbox (just blip throttle on downshifts, breathe throttle on upshifts).
