Great weather both days on nice grippy concrete. Excellent course designs by
Frank Stagnaro.

Any of of the Stook drivers there want to comment (Jason, Ron)? Course dependency a factor?

I don't know how much course dependency played into it. However, this lot is one of the home sites of Andy and Teresa. They had spent the previous weekend testing at Mather in the Boxster to see what worked and what didn't. The courses did have some real tight turns that the Boxster could power out of better. On Sunday, I downshifted three times. I could have done it all in 2nd, but it would have really bogged. This suited the Boxster well as it has more torque.

Interestingly enough, though we've never had this problem before, we had massive understeer. As everyone is no doubt aware, getting an S2000 to understeer is an interesting feat. We tried everything (our shocks aren't adjustable for compression) and got it working a little better, but it still wasn't optimal. I've been running it through my head what other adjustments could be done. The problem was that if we softened the front to allow better bite up there, it brought back the inside wheel spin, so.....

I actually did pretty good considering how bad the car was working. Just a few weeks prior, we had been in Atwater, California on concrete as well, and had to dial back to stop the oversteer!!

So, I'm going to talk to my car setup guru and see what options we have if presented with this again......

Was the understeer on the tight turns? That's the one thing I lost a little on when I went to large front swaybar. However I would not call any understeer I have "massive."

This is one place an easily, continuously adjustable (as in slider link) front bar would be useful. I still plan to work on it over the winter, but no time now.
