Default Shock Reservour Mounting

I'm considering some shocks with remote reservoir. Need some
advice for mounting the res. in the engine compartment and
trunk. Anyone have experience with Penske, Moton, etc. and where
or how to place the res. and how to get them in place with the minimum
of cutting or drilling holes in the car.

I just put some Penskes on my car and plan to use shock tower brace mounts to mount the reservoirs.

I drive Solo 2 A stock so we cannot use shock tower braces, but you can certainly use the mount.

In the rear, I zip tied the lines to the sway bar and other paraphernalia and stuffed the reservoirs in the channel supporting the rear bumper.

My rears are in the trunk, tied down with super zip ties along the bar/rod that goes along the mid/bottom part of trunk (I don't have the vertical trunk liner piece in place that goes below the rear hatch/under the top. If you remove that, you can see the bar/rod)

My fronts are on the inside wheel wells.

I'll try to take some pictures on Monday, I don't have the car with me.

Thanks for the input. I am doing solo also.

Silvershadow,
Your rear reservouirs are not actually in the trunk, but protected from trash by the trunk/bumper and did not require any
holes to be drilled in the trunk, if I understand correctly. That sounds like a good solution.

Doug,
If you have a chance to send me some pictures, that would be great. How did you route your lines to the trunk, holes where? I reallly don't want to mess up when it comes to drilling/cutting into the S!

Put 'em anywhere you want; just try to keep them away from extreme heat. Here's what I did:

What Richard has is similar to what i have. Its important to keep the remote resiviours in a cool spot as they provide a certain amount of cooling capacity for the main shock body.

I didn't want to drill holes in my trunk so i just stuffed them inside the bumper channel. No drilling - not as easy to get to as in the trunk, but then I didn't have to drill a BIG hole in the trunk either.

Excellent info. If anyone has more pictures, keep them coming. I will probably start the install next week, so I really need to decide.

rlaifatt, thanks for the excellent photos. The trunk install really helps me to know
at least some place safe to drill if I decide to go that route. Was the hole you made large enough for the entire canister to go through or did you disconnect the line?

Doug, I really like your idea of the bumper placement, without drilling! I will have to see if that will work for me once the units get here.
