Please take this comment as constructive, it's really meant this way. Unless you have changed some other things, your car is actually over points for TTC. And, the points that are making you over, are not likely helping you at all.

I think we'd agree on the following assessments:
Tires 3, shocks 3, springs 2, ball joints 2, big brake 2, rear wing 4=16

However that OEM lip is 5 points because it has vertical and horizontal elements, and the rear side strake are 2. Those mods are 7 points of no help. You prob should yank those off.

This in no way diminishes your excellent time, cause those aren't really helping
Good catch, I was wondering if someone would add up points. I was trying to keep the focus of the review on Speadfreaks Ohlin Suspension instead of TTC details but anyways. I actually am no longer using the SPC upper adjustable ball joints and switched to offset upper bushings for zero points and kept the same alignment settings. I removed the sidestrakes after that picture was taken early saturday before my record lap was recorded as that was discussed in detail at the track. The TTC guys were all watching each other like hawks on points, even had calipers out measuring sway bars and many of us were hitting the scales before and after each session to stay legal. 1 got DQ'd for being 7 pounds light after a session.

Anyways my current TTC point break down is:
Tires 3
shocks 3
springs 2
BBK 2
rear wing 4
front lip 5

Total: 19 w/dyno reclass

Last thing I wanted to do was DQ this weekend so we were all watching each other closely. I will likely remove the lip as I further optimize my setup as I agree it is not worth the 5pts.

The car looked really good out there. We got a good laugh when you were about to eat that white Ferrari on the front straight.

Are you running those r7 over the 10" wheel?
Thanks, yes was running a 225/45/17 Hoosier R7 on 17x10
Why so much stretch?
A 225 Hoosier R7 is about the size of a 255 Nitto NT01 on a 17x9, so on a 17x10 it's not very stretched.
Correct, 225 Hoosier R7 has a section width of 9.7" so fits with minimal stretch on a 17x10. I would prefer 245 R7 but need to drop points from front lip and BBK to do that. I'll have to update later with a mounted picture.

That's a hell of an improvement in time for just a coilover swap. I saw your time on racehero and I was thinking 'he must have had some crazy tune or something to drop 2 seconds'. I wish I could have been out there with you guys, I also made the move to ohlins and I'm interested to see the car's attitude over T3.

Anyways man congrats. When you are you guys going back, June Jam?

I'm doing summit main with nasa mid-a April 15-17th, you should come up if you're able man.
Thanks Brian!

Not sure I can make it to Summit yet as I think I have work obligations that weekend. But yes back at RA for June Jam 4th-5th

Matt, care to share who you have valving these and whether there's any particular secret sauce other than the natural adjustment in bump/rebound for the spring rates?
Stiff enough for now. Guess it depends on your goals and setup. I've not maxed them out yet with the current rates but when I do just order 2 more springs and swap front to rear. But yes I had great grip obviously so hard to say no to the question of was it enough...

Are you Dyno reclassed? You left out weight reduction and engine modification points.

Great TTC time by the way.

Nice time Joel! Look forward to getting on track with you this season. Will you be at gta or gridlife?

might want to look into getting a TTC* reclass that way you can run your current whp and get a lighter weight. Especially if you dump the lip and sway bars for 7 points.

They are working directly with Ohlins on these. I think once we have done some more testing and they are happy with the spec they will be able to share the plots to those who are interested.

I agree, would love to do a TTC* reclass for less weight. I am on stock sways so no points there. Only thing to do would be drop the BBK (-2pts) and swap to a 2 piece OEM size rotor like gyrodisc and also get rid of the front lip (-5pts) to put me at 14pts + TTC* (+7) reclass.

The Stoptech BBK is going to be very hard to give up however just because it has really given me more confidence in the heavy brake zones not heating up so fast even with ducts as well as no headache of changing broken oem rotors every race weekend. So we'll see if that happens or not.
