spoon brake discs cracking
euroS2K, glad to hear! I have found over the years the low cost to replace the rotors with OEM parts is well worth it. There are enough things to worry about I figure this is one I don't have to think about. In fact I just put new rotors on the front this past Saturday, and although mine were filled with little tiny check marks, they looked almost as thick as the new ones; but they still went into the trash...
Yes, any extra cooling you can add is a good thing.

how much faster does the cobalt RACE pads wear out the OEM rotors compared to the cobalt GT-Sports?
Guys,
I know that one should change pads when changing discs, but the Panther+ plus pads having little wear, it is tempting to keep them when I swap the cracked spoon discs for the powerslots...
is this an option, or would I be making a big mistake ?
thanks for your feedback
regards

WOW I was going to recomend using slotted rotors only, but after seeing that picture............
I still recomend slots over drilled holes. I suppose you need to have a good manufacturer.
I got my rotors Cyrogenicly treated.

well kaolite was soooo right, the new powerslot rotors lasted about 20 laps of a nice twisty circuit called the Val de Vienne and each has now a single radial crack across almost the entire disc surface, even worse than the posted picture ... but also starting from the slot/exterior intersection ....
so I drove very gingerly 200 miles home using the gears and handbrake to slow down !!!!!
obviously carbotech panther+ pads are just too agressive ...
having received my replacement spoon discs, I'll put them on with project

any other ideas ??
The rest of us get lap after lap after lap of reliable braking power from plain old OEM blank rotors. And they cost less, too.
