Default Spoon Rollcage???

I always browse this website for news about the s2ki, but the thing is...i NEVER post. One thing that i've always wondered about was the spoon rollcage, and whether or not its SCCA/NASA legal. Also, what is required to be taken out of the interior? If anyone here knows please share.

I think the spoon rollcage is in the hyperrev book and i don't think it is legal for NASA or SCCA racing (maybe pro solo or whatever)...... both NASA and SCCA require doorbars and 6 point mounting.

The diagonal bar for the Spoon roll cage is on the wrong side, so that is one of the obvious things that keeps it from being SCCA legal. It's made for a RHD car. Pick up a SCCA GCR book and it will tell you what you need. You'll probably have to get a custom cage built.

EFFECT (Mike) is getting a custom cage built for his S2000. His will be 8 point. Look at the February issue of Car and Driver to see the Saltflat racing S2000. You can see that the door panels need some adjustments to make a cage work. Softtop must go also.... King Motorsports quoted me something like $3500 for a cage done by them.!!!

Spoon cage will fit to USDM or JDM S2000. Spoon cage is International FIA and JAF approved except North American FIA. You need to add extra side bars and floor bars to make it pass SCCA regulation.

It may be legal for RHD cars, but for LHD cars, the diagonal bar is going the wrong way, which would make it not SCCA legal. Unless Spoon has a LHD version of their cage...
