Stock-Legal Replacement Clutch
I recently sent a request to the SEB (autocross arbiters of all that is good and right), asking that they recognize that the stock clutch is useless for Prosolo, and only marginally adequate for top-level autocross, and allow us to use other clutches.
In response, I received the following (in this month's FasTrack):
#8823; clutch allowance. Per the SAC, the allowances found in the preamble of Section 13 authorizing normally expendable
parts(including clutch disks) being replaced with factory equivalent replacements adequately serves the needs of the Stock
Category.
Is there, in fact, a "factory equivalent replacement" clutch for the S2000 that can stand up reasonably well to the rigors of Prosolo?
Thanks.

I agree - it's too ambiguous. I suspect there's a number of ACT pressure plates in use out there - they fit the same form factor but use stiffer springs. Is that "close enough" or not? Since there is a range of replacement parts in many areas that aren't exact duplicates of OEM parts, exactly how far can you go? Yeah, yeah, if it doesn't say you can, you can't but...
