Default Stoptech BBK Installed

I finally got my Stoptech BBK installed. The wheels are OZ Allegarita 17x7.5 +48. And I'm using a 10mm spacer. According to the wheel offset calculator on the 101 Tires Website, I'm extended 23 mm further than stock with the wheel and spacer. On big bumps on the street the tires (225) are rubbing the fender liner. I'm concerned I'll have issues using the curbing at Auto Club Speedway.

What is the solution, a fender roll? how much more clearance does that provide? Any suggestions appreciated, thanks!

Yes, it sounds like a fender roll will be necessary. How much negative camber are you running? More negative camber will help. If you basically flatten out the whole fender, it should give you about another inch?

I'm running about 2 degrees negative in the front. Darrin did the alignment. Any recommendations on who I should go to for the fender roll?

Also, I've read postings referencing a fender 'pull.' I'm not sure what that is. Thanks!

I run 225s on my racecar with -3.4deg up front and still rubbed the fender liner. However, my car is pretty low. Similar offset as you (+45 wheels with a 7mm spacer).

I simply cut away the part of the liner being rubber and bent back the tabs holding the part of the liner there. If you don't want to crack the paint use a heat gun while bending.

If you look at where the fender attaches to the fender liner, you'll see the lip of the fender. A basic roll is just rolling that lip flat, with respect to the fender.

A fender pull is when you begin to flare/pull the fender out.

Here is an extreme case where the fender is completely pulled/flared. Notice the flat portion is gone:

^Good gosh...you found a pic of my old car mid fender flare project. that's when they were looking terrible.

Here is a finished pic. This was fully flared and then repainted.
