Str brake pads
I thought I saw something about brake pads for autocross/track use but can't seem to find it. I need to take the hawk pads out and replace them with something that works lol I was looking at carbotech pads but don't know what ones. I want ones that are good for autocross and some track use.

Hawk hp+ is a decent choice for both track and AutoX. As you get faster and faster on track, you might go to xp10/8 or beyond, but hp+ will do well for a while. But they will squeal on the street if you don't challenge them often enough.

For STR I use EBC Yellow. Relatively low dust, bite gets even better once they have some heat. XP10 is too aggressive for the relatively low speeds involved in my opinion. Personally, I would suggest having separate track pad/rotors.

I want something aggressive, with the hps they don't work at all. I don't dd the car so I don't mind the extra brake dust or shorter pad life. I just want something that will work really well.

Yellows work very well for autox, but the XP10s feel too grabby from my experience. You can't get enough heat into them since runs are short and you have a long time between runs.

If all you want is AutoX performance, OEM is good. A pad that has peaked my interest, though I've never tried it, is the Hawk DTC-30. In spite of "circle track" marketing wording, the coefficient of friction and heat range seem to be better than the Hawk HP+. I'm not sure what would make it bad on pavement. Anyone try those before for AutoX/track (20-30 min session) double duty? Here's the chart: [attachment=84832::]

I've used Hawk HP+ on both my Nissan 240sx and my AP1 S2k for autocross and occasional track days. I like the performance but hate the dust. If you don't wash it off right away it will embed itself into the wheel's finish.
