STR Prep - Exhuast (tip to tail)
The t1r 70r is about 94-97DB at every event I've been to that does sound. The word is the t1r 70em is quieter at around 90-91 DB. I have a T1R 70R I'll ship you for $550. It's been welded on in a couple spot but for the price it's a great deal. PM me for more detail, pictures.
I am getting ready to order the litespec exhaust but I am worried its going to be too loud for certain events...anyone else running this setup

I have the Berk 3" header-back with HFC, I aded a PLM header this winter. Car got just a touch louder, not very noticeable. The mechanical noise under the hood was the most noticeable addition.
For what its worth we found some success by replicating the Burns 2-stage.
We have a 2-stage on our EP car and it did wonders but it is expensive. Looking at the structure its basically 2 pieces of angle iron welded in the flow path of the muffler. These pieces force the exhaust into the packing of the muffler reducing sound.
I took out normal 3" inlet, 4.5" diameter, 17 long burns and welded 1 piece of angle iron in the inlet. With our sound equipment at the plant we showed it dropped the dB by 4-5. Its still a little loud but we only received a warning the second day of nats last year (nothing the first day) I am going to weld in another piece of angle to better replicate the actual 2-stage and hopefully get before and after on the dyno to see if there is an impact.
Our set-up is. TODA header, Berk 70mm high flow, 3" pipe into a 3" burns with turn down before the axle. Very very light but loud.

Cool info, thanks Johnny! Do you happen to have any pictures? I'm picturing the point of the V pointing upstream, covering about half of the area of the inner pipe. Is that right?
I've got a 2.5" straight-through Vibrant muffler that I've been planning to make a single exhaust with, but I'm worried about it being too loud. Well, too loud for me and my daily highway commute.

I answered my own question: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/med...=400&width=700
GRM's review of various mufflers: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/sounding-off/
The local police are enforcing an unwritten rule that all mufflers must have some baffle within reach of a standard nightstick. i.e. They shove a nightstick up a muffler - if it isn't stopped by something then you get a ticket for an 'improper muffler'. Yes, the stock S2000 exhaust fails this test.
Regardless of the validity, a couple of Vs like the Burns inlet may actually reduce sound and allow me to pass this silly police test. I just hope I don't accidentally make a whistle tip! Woo-woo!
