Because of the exhaust hanger we had to use, the exhaust hangs "in" a bit, but here's a shot from the underside of the car before we rotated the V-Band clamp back up out of the way.

Yup.

Anyone have a sound clip of a burns 2 stage?

My t1r exhaust seems as if the baffling is gone because its loader then it used to be. I'm thinking about cutting off the muffler and having a burns 2 stage welded on.

Would you guys go with the 4.5" thick one or the thicker one.

I tried to get Burns to loan me one of each of the 2-stage mufflers so I could test them and report back here, but they wouldn't do it.

So, can't help ya.

Hmm. Did you happen to ask if the thicker one muffles the sound more?

I talked to burnstainless and they said the 625 thickness muffler will muffle the sound more then the 450. They also said they can make me a custom 70mm muffler to match up with my 70mm piping.

anyone want to donate me $600 haha

No, sorry, it's $484 for the 2-stage 625 muffler in 2.75" (70mm) form and then to make a vband turn down the vband is $84 and then the price of a 2.75" 90 degree bend. I didn't get a exact total because I can't order it yet but I'm guessing around $600 total. The locals are on me saying my car is to loud.

I think after 60k miles on the t1r 70r I've blown all the packing out of the muffler so it's became louder. At national venues I've been around 98DB. Local at 100 feet bouncing off crap They have claimed it's 97DB. Our limit got changed from 96 to 94 this year and I've been running a dryer vent which dropped it way down to the 89-91DB range. They choose to put the meter like 25 feet from course yesterday (due to limitations of "can't be on the grass") then came and said I was reading 97DB. I laughed and said yea, the meter was 25 feet from my car, not 100. They then said I have a month to fix it before our next event 9/16. Sucks

this is how much room I have to work with...

total lenth 26"
tip- 6"
can- 13"
pipe- 7"

link to burns exhaust I'm talking about (besides they would make it 2.75")

so looking into the Burns muffler and looking like their 2.5 or maybe 2.75 (josh they will make you one that size?) like this

and this is the path I want to go with. How much do you guys think a local exhaust shop will charge me to fab up piping and a turn down on this exhaust?

Haven't seen very many posts with a stock header.

Are they generally quieter? I have a 70mm berk High flow cat already and am thinking about getting a T1R single 70mm exhaust to save weight. Not really interested in power gains.
