im running -3.4 camber in the front. as mentioned above 235/45 is 25.3" and the 245/40 is 24.7. i saw a picture of Jonathan Lugod running ap2 squared wheels. just not sure what size tires. so the 8.5's can be effective ( if you can drive as good as that dude )

What you probably saw was him running (and winning) on 8.5 rears at the Pro Finale last year (with 9s up front). Something to do with available wheels, it wasn't intentional.

I ran a set of TSW 17x9 with Rivals first day of National ProSolo. The second day I switched to OZ 17x8.5 with 245 Rivals. The TSW weigh a little over 20 lbs. on my scale and the OZ are 15.5. There is a noticable difference in acceleration that I datalogged. IIRC, it was 2nd gear 0.40 G with the heavier setup and 0.45 G lighter. They also fit better on the car and don't rub on the upper A arm like the TSW do.

Selling the TSW BTW.

I realize this is pretty much splitting hairs, but just in case anyone cares, my TSW 17" x 9" +63 Nurburgrings (bronze finish) actually weighed around 18 3/4 pounds each (that's just the wheel, no valve stems or center caps). TSW Nurbugrgring center cap = 1.2 oz (.08 lb).

It's unusual for a wheel to weigh LESS than what the manufacturer claims... normally it's the other way around; most aftermarket wheels that I've weighed myself are 1/4–3/4 of a pound more than the advertised/claimed weight:

http://www.tsw.com/alloy_wheels_nurburgring.php

The exact weights of my Nurburgring wheels were 18.73, 18.74, 18.75, 18.80 lb. These weights were obtained with a 75-lb.-capacity digital shipping scale that is accurate to about .02 pound. It was nice to see the consistency of the weights across the four examples too. I've found that cheaper, cast aftermarket wheels (as well as OEM wheels) often vary in weight significantly from wheel to wheel—up to half-pound difference in the SAME EXACT SIZE.

I have ordered a set of 17" x 9" +60 Enkei PF01s and will provide accurate weights of those four wheels when I have them (on backorder until late July).

With the center cap:

The second lightest wheel, without the center cap:

Centercap alone:

Is it common for the a-arms to be rubbed by the tsw nurburgring 17x9 +63 wheels?

Can camber affect this?

They don't rub my a-arms at stockish height with front camber joints (around -2.2 front)

I think it's fairly common for those without camber increasing lower ball joints (and maybe also offset bushings and upper ball joints). One of mine barely rubbed at stock camber levels (~2.4 deg).

So would it work without rubbing running 2.7 camber or more with spc upper camber kit?
