There is a noticable difference in acceleration that I datalogged. IIRC, it was 2nd gear 0.40 G with the heavier setup and 0.45 G lighter. They also fit better on the car and don't rub on the upper A arm like the TSW do. Selling the TSW BTW.
Is it common for the a-arms to be rubbed by the tsw nurburgring 17x9 +63 wheels?

Can camber affect this?
I think it's fairly common for those without camber increasing lower ball joints (and maybe also offset bushings and upper ball joints). One of mine barely rubbed at stock camber levels (~2.4 deg).
I am running GT Motoring's Challenge Delrin offset bushings, currently at 3.1 degrees negative camber up front, no rubbing/clearance issues with the +63 Nurburgrings.

What size tires were you running on the TSWs?

I have a set of CE28 17x8.5 +50 wheels that i wanted to use as a second set. I test fitted the 235/45 and they are coming pretty close and I can hear them rub my liner while driving on normal roads. i believe my height is 12.75" fender to hub ( i will check later today more accurately after i get a caliper measuring tool ) and the 245/40 does have the shorter sidewall profile. I will also be rolling my fenders this week to see if it will give me some more room.

Has anyone here ran the 245/40 square set up? on a 8.5 wheel? was it much slower than a 255/40 on a 9" wheel? Is it worth it at all to run the 8.5 or should I just sell them and get an extra set of 17x9?

TIA,

Hezron
I ran the ap2 rear set up for a few years. It worked and was a cheap way to get in to STR. When I switched to my 17x9 +60 I did notice a bit better turn in. I was running 255's on the 8.5's though so 245's might be slightly better than my 8.5 set up. Overall 17x9 is ideal but that wouldn't stop me from doing it again if I couldn't afford a 17x9 set up.

Drove with them on EGbeater's car for the match tour during the weekend. I think they performed wonderfully. I personally really like them.

Nice pics of the STR grid, I meant to take some but didn't have my camera handy. Where did you purchase your TSW wheels and Hankook tires?

i got them from Discount tires, but it was while my friend still worked there. But i would look when they have the deal. I got mine on the memorial day sale, and i got a $50 gift card for each set of RS3s and the set of TSWs i bought.

Stole is a very harsh word, i prefer "borrowed". Because i have no intention on keeping the pictures

Right now I'm leaning towards bronze TSW Nurburgring wheels, should go well w/ the Laguna Blue Pearl paint. It appears Discount Tire is the easiest place to get them, the few other venders I've found that carry them seem a bit shady.
