Default Supercharger setup for track

This thread is similar to the other thread but for superchargers. Im looking to build a reliable supercharged track car. My main concern is oil and water cooling. I think a supercharger would heat things up abit and I live in Houston, sometimes tracking at 100F. I want the car to be able to last 20-25 min sessions without overheating. Right now the water temperature moves from 3 bars to 4 (AP1) when I track for more than 10 minutes in hot weather and I have to short shift for a couple of turns to get it back to 3 bars. Oil temp is at around 270F so a supercharger would be pushing it. The car has 100k miles with stock cooling system. What necessary modifications can I do, if any, in order to accomodate a supercharger and run at least 300-350whp?

I havent figured it out yet on 90-100 degree weather but I am almost there.
I have a ap1 with a SOS blower running 11-13lbs depending on sea level. 410whp on jeff evans dyno. right now we have a big oil cooler, 3 core mishimoto rad, big boy spal fans, and a vented hood.
in 90-100 degree weather I can get about 20 mins before I have to do a cool down lap some times two. But during that I run full heat and sweat my balls off. (I have limp mode set in a 225 coolent) 85 degress or under I am good to go basically full tilt. I plan to redo my cooling panels under the car, and add a bumper duct to see how it changed the temps. I feel its doable but plan to work at it until its perfected

Cliffs,
need big oil cooler
big rad
better fans
vented hood
A bumper or head light duct will help

I have an AP2 motor with SOS supercharger. Making 380 hp. Champion radiator, 13" spal fans, oil cooler and baffled pan. I also have the SOS upgraded racing heat exchanger. I have no issues with cooling in Dallas TX weather, but I keep spinning bearings. I have killed 2 motors as I get faster and faster on RComps. I'm fairly certain I am oil starving it in big corners on RComps. Next rebuild is going to get an accusump and hopefully this new canton pan.

I have spun bearings without an accusump. Even with good temps. Am on R-comps. Am turbo, but think same principle here.

Absolutely agree that R's require baffle and accusump, esp when FI. Ideally Canton pan too.

Which bearings are you spinning? Curious if it is always the same bearing location.

I'm tracking a SC car on R comps using a custom Rotrex at 12-13 psi, V-mount rad/intercooler, SC oil cooler and laminova oil cooler. Proper ducting and vented hood as well. I run 20 minute time trial sessions without heat problems but hottest temps so far are in the low 90's. Water temp stays below 190.

I think it's more the oil starve rather than the temps.

I'm running the Novi 1200 @ 400whp. Cooling mods include a Fullblown radiator; temps never exceed 5 bars (same as street driving). Also running a Setrab 25 row oil cooler, temps peak around 260F taken at oil pan. And running the large SOS heat exchanger.

A vented hood works wonders on overall temps. I measured ~15F deg cooler oil temps.

I'm currently experimenting with motor oils, and have found some work better than others in regards to peak temps. I plan to use the Motul 300V next.

I'm considering a mild SC for track use ... ~6psi boost, 300whp or less. Would this setup require an intercooler? How much hp would I be sacrificing without the intercooler? Besides the loss of hp, any problems with the hotter IATs at that boost level on track?

If it's not necessary for that level of HP I'd rather skip the cost, complexity, weight and inefficiency of the intercooler.

im up in Cresson,TX - verry hot. 4-5Lbs boost 280 RWHP. Setrab oil cooler, oem radiator, SOS blower w heat exchanger on my 2.2l. baffled oil pan. i race mine and have for years. my oil does get hot 280 +! my water does not! so i change my oil often. i have more problems w fuel starvation in long left hand turns than anything - so i run a full tank when i go CCW. we make sure all the air goes thru the engine bay. get a dedicated oil press and Temp gauge! and get the biggest oil cooler you can find. more oil more cooling. i dont expect it to last forever so i dive it like i stole it.
