Supercharger setup for track
Ah ok, that makes sense. Yeah, I was reading the thread similar to this one about turbos on the track...so much potential, but halted fast by heating issues and $, that's partially why I wanted to go supercharged for my overall wants/needs with the S. If I wind up doing track days, I probably wouldn't do more than 3-5 laps at a time. Would a V mount or anything that would require me to relocate engine parts be needed for that?
I'm pretty sure there are people tracking with supercharger a without a vmount and even with AC. Just given all my previous issues I decided to go all out. Honestly I wish I vmountd my radiator as the airflow is still not as great as I want it.
I would see how the car does after 5mins on the track and go from there.

Josserman, have we interacted before at all? Your username rings a bell. If your in the midwest are you planning on attending the ITR Expo at Road America this year?
Ive tracked my sos stage 2 system 5 or 6 times. Both at road america and blackhawk farms. Hot/humid and cold/wet days. I never had an issue with heat, but then again i never really logged my temps or pressure. I ran the larger heat exchanger from sos and a stock radiator. I also have ac. I did crack a radiator at the endtank one year but replaced it with another used stock unit.
However, i recommend monitoring them as well as prepping the car for it. This year im in on the canton baffled pan as well as the oil cooler but with a thermostat controlled unit for oil to stay around 180. I also purchased the dual pass radiator in this section.
Even though i have no had any failures directly linked to oil and coolant temperatures, i feel prepping for it is a must.
I should mention i did crack the piston rings on my f20 2 years ago at blackhawk due to low oil pressure. First time on slicks and no baffled oil pan. The car popped out of vtec around corners and my catch can would be filled with around 1qrt of oil after each session. I then had a baffle welded into the pan and a lower mileage f22 swapped in. That seemed to address that issue.
Again i did not directly link that failure to engine oil temperature, but to oil pressure.
To answer the question, yes you can track it. But is it wise? NO. At the very least you need to monitor oil temp and pressure as well as coolant temperature with a DIGITAL READOUT. I prefer the data in my face vs the stock clusters bars.

Great info! Thanks for answering guys. So from what I've gathered out of this thread, a baffled oil pan, an accusump, oil cooler and temp gauges are pretty much necessary to regulate oil pressure/temperature...especially around tight/extended turns. I'm sure a beefed up diff from puddy wouldn't hurt either

Anyone who tracks their car (especially FI) I'd say be sure to have some gauges on the car. Ya your temps could be fine for a while, but as you get faster it seems like only a matter of time till you have overheating problems.
I have the diff but you dont need it unless you are going to be launching at like auto x or something. maybe a better lsd if you want.
I have alot of cooling mods in progress right now, I really think 2014 I will be able to do 35 minute sessions no cool down laps and be able to run it hard. How many hours can you do that on track is another ball game. The motor will last a lot less than a stock one but I think you can get enough out of a motor to make it still worth it over something like a ls swap imo.
I will post results when the season starts. but under 90 degrees ambient you should be gtg with the mods listed in this thread

Alright cool, I was starting to lose all hope in FI applications for track use after hearing about all types of heating issues and before seeing this thread. As far as cooling goes, I'll go with a FMIC (would the one that comes with the new c38-81 kraftwerks do?) with all the oil cooling/pressure regulating mods with all appropriate gauges of course. Then from there, if that's not enough, I'll go ahead with the V-mount...time to save up...

If I owned a NA s2000 and I were considering going FI and tracking the car, I think the first step going down that path is getting the car to the track as-is. I think someone in that position doesn't even know the questions that they want answered yet and getting out there will help you determine the areas that should be of concern.
