No worries. We beat him again at Autobahn, without any allegations of blocking. But an Evo best us.

Jackie is out killing it at Road Atlanta right now while we are sitting at home. The rest of the season is going to be fun.

Listened to the Slip Angle podcast yesterday and heard your plans for the transmission. Didn't want to spoil it in here what exactly you are doing, it's rather interesting though. I'm super curious about the weight difference and the actual shift time difference. Explains the fancy wheel too :P

the cat is out of the bag on this. We are putting in a bmw 7-spd dct transmission. With a 350z diff. We think it’s going to add about 100lbs total to the cars weight. But will get much better shifting, gearing, reliability (hopefully) and braking.

the reason behind the steering wheel was I couldn’t see the shift lights behind a traditional wheel.

A few of the Supra guys have done this as well with good results so it will be awesome to see in a S2K. The 335is transmissions seem to be affordable second hand compared to the M3 DCT.

I actually already have an E92 M3 and F80 M3 transmission. I think we are going to use the F80 trans as it’s more compact.

Once we get it working I’ll be ordering a spare or two, I think the price of these transmissions is going to increase as this swap becomes more popular.

I saw that the third party DCT controller stuff is floating around now, curious to see how well it fits into the tunnel.

we have a hammer, a big hammer, a grinder, a cut off wheel, and a welder. It’s going in there.

I saw that it fits into the Miata tunnel, but I hadn't compared the sizes of our tunnels

yes, and put out exhaust out the fender so we don’t have that in the way.

Awesome stuff for both cars. Will be a really neat proof of concept. I saw that post on the miata and read through a bit of it. It mentioned modified transmission tunnel. Look at the left side tunnel of the picture and you can see some weld marks. Would be great if the S2k trans tunnel does not need modification but I would be surprised if it does not.
