suspension direction
Okay everyone, from my searches it looks like this is a "here we go again", however I have what is hopefully a pretty specific quesiton to solicit opinions.
I have an AP1 with about two dozen or so track days (HPDE, not wheel to wheel) and 45K on the odo. I run 225 fronts and 245 rear DOT rubber (Yoko A032R's in te past, trying a set of Pilot Cup Sports right now) on stock wheels. Everything is stock else is stock (except the obvious brake pads & fluid).
I feel that my shocks need replacement as (by the seat of my pants) I feel there is just more uncontrolled body movement than there used to be. In addition, I have started to have inside rear wheel lifting problems in some instances where I haven't in the past. This could be due to my gradual improvement of rubber (and hopefully speed) over the last couple of years.
My big problem here is a budget of around 2k, no more than $2,500. My real budget for racing is in the kart.
Soooo, I want to eliminate the rear wheel lift. In addition, my opinion on the stock suspension is that it is good, but in medium and high speed corners it doesn't take a good set, but rather does a little double-bounce (too soft on the slow rebound perhaps?) which can be very unsettling (in say the kink at Road America at 105+mph). This double bounce I feel causes me to make too many corrections mid-corner to exit.
So with my $2k budget, how to best deal with this situation?
Thanks for any suggestions.

That double bounce can be fixed with the Bump Steer Kit.
What you descibe sounds to me like bump steer.
So, if you are intent on new shocks then KW V3 is the way to go.
BSK $500
KW V3 $2000

Perhaps a bit unorthodox according to the serious track folks, but what worked really well for me was to get a front swaybar (Whiteline in my case) and nearly new '03 coilovers.

Plus you can find the KW V3s new for less than $2,000.

I have the KWV3 and a Gendron... cost me about the upper part of your price range.
I couldnt be happier with my setup
not only am I faster, but it makes the track days more enjoyable
