Ti valve spring retainers
#11
I haven't checked my retainers for almost a year. At that point no galling. Currently they are at 12,000 miles with lots of over 9000 rpm excursions. The retainers were custom made for Alaniz and not the Supertech that he uses now.

so long as they fit right there will be no issues. they can be expected to last the life of the engine/car/whatever. They dont wear unless something is moving against them. They should snap into the springs and be held secure to the spring. If they are loose in the spring or fall off very easily then they arent right and things that arent right dont usually last very long.

I purchased the AP2 retainers/keepers but then decided to go with the Supertech's and springs instead. I've only got a few hundred miles and a couple track days on them so far...

Couldn't tell ya. I would assume so considering titanium has a much lower specific gravity than steel. However, for such as small part, thickness and such can make a big difference as well. I don't really.
I rebuilt the head using them primarily to increase durability against over revs. Funny though, every since I got them I haven't miss shifted even once!
