Question for those of you with tire trailers (Specifically the smaller HF one shown in the pictures on the first page). Is it possible to store it vertically (loaded or unloaded)? For example, at the front of a parking space in an underground lot or at the front of a garage allowing a car to be parked in behind it?

Yes. But depending on how you stack your tires, you might need to remove some things (like the vertical posts in mine, they're a screw base).

Mine:

Towing with the S is not all that bad, you just have to be conservative with your accelerating and braking. The gross weight of mine is ~550lbs (150lb trailer, 200lb wheels, 200lb equipment).

My recommendation would be to cover the deck (if using wood) with some heavy duty laminate. Even after 10 coats of weatherproofing, warping, mold, and chips have developed. Another recommendation is to take your time aligning the axle, a wandering or wobbly trailer sucks.

May I ask for a little more information on the "must" part?
If you plan to drive at freeway speeds, the 8-inch tires just spin too fast and don't have enough margin of safety for load capacity.

agreed, you can if you put 2 2x4s under the it to raise it off the ground enough to not crush the rear lights.

I, however, cannot b/c I have more or less permanently attached my box. Instead I park mine in front of my S sideways and store random stuff under/on top of it during the winter.

The link just shows that I can pull the car in with the trailer all the way into my garage and close the door.

What type of trailer is this? Seems like it maybe a better bet to achieve slightly better than crappy fuel economy while towing to events. With our current trailer the car[Miata] just sucks back the gas.

I forget, but it was expensive (like >$1000) IIRC. Probably more than you'd save in gas....

(I'll try to remember whose trailer it is)
