Put some Bearing Buddies on those 12" wheels to help keep them lubed. I have an extra set laying in my garage because I did not realize they came as a pair so I ordered two and ended up with two sets.

Great tips!

I think I'll go get some "bearing buddies" and a swivel trailer jack before taking the trailer out.

Maybe the "buddies" will protect my teeny wheels from eating bearings.

I only plan on mostly making 70 mile trips... but I do have a 1200 mile round tripper coming up.

How heavy and long of a trailer can you tow safely with an s2000? I really want a tire trailer, but I would really like to build/buy one long enough capable of hauling (with another car) an FJ Kart which weighs less than 300lbs.

From what I have read Honda does not recommend you tow anything with this vehicle. That being said... 400 pounds seems to be the max

Well, I have another tire trailer, made with the 4 foot by 8 foot Harbor Freight kit, that holds two sets of wheels/tires, assorted stuff like full gas jugs, and shelters, and a tool box, and I tow it with my Miata with no problem. I'm pretty sure that, full, it weighs more than 400 pounds.

I think that the only issue with towing a heavy load is strain on the drive train of the car. If you're careful about how fast you accelerate, I think you could easily tow 400 pound or more with the S2000.

124Spider, have a feeling you have the trailer I was looking at. It's 287lbs according the the Harbor Freight site.

So it would be 287lbs for the trailer, plus a spare, plus another 250~ lbs for wheels & tires, jack, etc... Bad idea???

48" x 96" Foldable Trailer

I guess if I could get by with the smaller one, but when I towed the Kart it would probably be a tight fit????

Probably no worse than the strain of R-comps + FI'd S2000s on a track....

I would think this to have more to do with how whatever you are attaching to the car to tow the trailer. I have seen some pictures while researching what hitch to buy, where the attachment point in the trunk had begun to tear out.

The Da'lan trailer had that problem. It was one of the considerations in buying the Chase Race hitch. The Chase hitch has good resale and is completely removable in the long term and mostly removable in the short term.
