torque
It depends upon how much you want to spend and how long you want the torque to be around. Nitrous is the cheapest way to get a lot of instant torque and has the benefit of not dragging you down when you don't need it, like bigger stroke, turbo, etc. You should be able to get away with 80 hp for a long time as long as you don't turn it on below 4,000 to 5,000 rpms. Below that number the extra torque "leaning" on things has a better chance of making parts out of your motor. It's simple math. At 2500 rpm the NOS is pushing twice as hard on everything as at 5000. So give your motor a break (oops... not a good choice of words there).
Turbo charging works pretty cool, and other than $$ doesn't have too many down sides as long as you can keep your mits off the boost screw.
If you only need it for a short while cal ERC Racing fuels and get a drum of their MUL-A gasoline or V-P Fuels U-4. $10-$12 a gallon and an INSTANT 6% more HP. I've done fuel swaps on a dyno and seen this so I can recommend it.
I suppose you can go with _____ (fill in the company's name here) lower gear reduction in the tailshaft of the transmission. Stock is 1.16:1 and I think there is a like 1.25:1 out there somewhere.
And you could stroke it, put more compression into it, maybe swap out some F22C cams (they seem to be a bit less agressive than the F20C's).
Maybe even drop in an aluminum 289 Ford??
But then it's just a matter of $$$, right?
In any event, have fun!!
