I am ritualistic about my pre-driving dump. Get all the juicy details when S2Kretard's Speed Secrets comes out in paperback next month.

^That and bore out the holes in your pedals. I kid you not, I asked this grossly overweight Porsche Club guy at a track day once why he drilled big holes in his pedals.

"To save weight."
I've seen people drill their hand brakes on road bikes to save weight. Till your brake handle, breaks...

You have extraordinary self control to keep from saying something about his weight as compared to what he saved by ruining his pedals. I don't think I could have kept my mouth shut.

Swapping out the rear trunk would be a good idea. Even with a mastergrade trunk you could lose 15-20 pounds.

Swapping out the seats is a good idea but you wont be losing more than 10 pounds total for both sides.

Some lightweight street-able batteries weigh about 10 pounds so you would be losing about 20 lbs (assuming the OEM battery weighs 30).

The OEM exhaust system + cat weighs in around 65 pounds (or so I have heard). Are you sure the entire 70mm headerback system would weigh only 7 pounds?

Get an aftermarket header. You should lose about 10 pounds over OEM.

Buy yourself some sort of an inflater or tire patching kit if you remove the spare.

I did not realize the trunk was so heavy. never thought about changing it because i've heard most carbon fiber ones(other then the pricey "JDM" stuff) actually weighs the same or more then stock.

If anything I will only be swapping out the drivers seat. I've only sat in two buckets seats before...one was the spoon which I really liked, and the other was a bride egro.

the titanium exhaust system weighs 9lbs total. this is refering to the 70mm headerback one. I read somewhere the stock exhaust weighed 68lbs.

I was thinking about getting the CR tire patch kit once I remove the spare.

The OEM vs CF panel debate hold true for most of the replaceable parts but one the trunk is a viable option to look into. Contact Showstoppers (forum sponsor) and see what they say.

The seat option is a pricey one. I temporarily have the Spoon kevlar and it weighs somewhere around 11 pounds. The bracket I have is my made by Bride and is sadly heavier than the seat itself. It really boils down to how bad you want the seat. You give up on a lot of comfort in exchange for a more snug fit which is why I went this route.

Header + Test Pipe + Ti Single to save over 70lbs. It is loud so make sure you get a muzzle for street. Light wheels 1st, then keep cutting away.
