Default Track S2000 burned down and rebuild!

This is a track only S2000. Couple weeks ago it went on track only to be engulfed in flames on cooldown lap. Now that it's back in my garage we've determined the infamous oil filter spinning back issue. The damage was made worse because no fire extinguisher in car and by the time one made it to car they had to pry hood open; luckily engine was off. Part of the restore is going to be securing oil filter so this never happens again, suggestions on best methods for this and having a sandwich plate. Also he wants to convert to manual rack; I've seen posts and it's very sketchy info on how to gut the EPS unit and get this done correctly. So as a gift to the community I will be doing the leg work and uploading pictures to help others out in the en devour. And while were in there loosing weight is a goal; so i'd like suggestions on low maintenance smaller batteries that work. Well be removing AC, deleting emission components and possibly installing a test pipe. Again this is a 100% dedicated only reside at race track car. Anyone have suggestions on what vendor to use on replacement parts; who's the S2000 junkyard god around here?

That'll buff out.

Lots of easy solutions for oil filter stopper. DIY with a hose clamp and some safety wire. Or check out Tegiwa, J's or ASM if you wanna spend $$$ on an oil filter stopper.

I am planning on installing an oil filter stopper as part of my track prep.
I am also planning on installing an oil cooler. I am wondering if the added sandwich plate and lines from the oil cooler will get in the way of an oil filter stopper.
Anyone know which stoppers work with an oil cooler sandwich plate installed?

by looking at them any of them should work. I’ll make one and post up.

another layer won't hurt. OEM torque specs are for a road going car with soft rubber engine mounts. this is just a little bit harsher environment then that.

but you know this.
