On the early models, the front A-Arm welds can crack under increased grip. It is common to reweld these as preventative maintenance .

A recent thread in this section (here) suggests that OEM brake lines can be a fail point under prolonged/excessive heating while tracking.

In stock class autocrossing, some find that the lower a-arm bushings start to tear and you loose some of the available stock camber adjustment. I talked to at least a few people who consider the lower a-arms wear items and replace them every couple years.

as for the brakes I used the stock brakes with centric premiums and cobalt or hawk pads with not too much problem.

At the bottom of the FAQ there is a small list of maintenance items that folks have run into: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=520674

Normally aspirated the cars are very bulletproof. Biggest issues I would say are they are fairly easy to mis-shift (over-rev) compared to most cars, so car is required, and the brake rotors are a consumable. The fact that they're only $55 makes it no big deal.

Sweet thanks guys. So far I'm optimistic. The wear and tear stuff looks very manageable. Probably going to start parting out my STI soon when I get it back from the shop, lol.

You can get the rotors for $35 the problem is not the rotors... its the heat that generates from the brake system, this will eat your pad, hubs and few other things.

Brake system is a little on the down side but manageable. Big brake kit will solve the problem

That's not too bad. Any big issues with the transmission?

Acura CL calipers are a simple bolt on and give you about 1/3rd more pad surface. It's like an LGT brake upgrade for the WRX but, for Hondas.

Samlee888, your '08 STi is one of my favorite GRs on IWSTi. Good luck w/ your part out. I have an STi also, but I dont track it b/c of the high costs. Switching out the bearings after 3 track days gets old fast! Not to mention, tracking an s2k is a far more rewarding experience compared to an AWD car.
