Default Tracking s2000

When I go to the track which is at Streets Of Willow, What should i do to my ap2?
should i buy better grippier tires and maybe some coilovers? or should I stick with my Hankook HR-II and stay stock and learn how to handle my car with crappy tires?

only one:

1. get a better brake pads. minimum XP8, or similar ones from other brand.

don't bother with changing tires nor suspension.

Why would you go so much higher in the rear?

A You need a helmet (probably), a car in good shape and with plenty of brake pad life remaining and that is all. Please don't ask this question. If you want to ask "What do I need for my second track day" then please by all means do so but not until you have completed at least one HPDE or lapping day first. Just check your brakes and make sure you've fairly new pads and make sure you've got a full engine worth of oil. If anything bring an extra quart. You don't need wheels, suspension or any other modification for your first track day. Come back and see us when you are done. Again, in case you missed it, TAKE YOUR CAR TO THE TRACK COMPLETELY STOCK THE FIRST TIME. 'nuf said.
Feel free to up your tire pressures a bit, but please don't run your rears 8 pounds higher than your fronts unless you plan on driving the track backwards.

That doesn't make sense.

When your tires warm up the air inside will expand. If the pressure is too high to tire won't flex at all and will slide easier. Not to mention you will wear the inside of the tire faster instead of having a more even wear with lower pressure.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys but that's what makes sense to me.

40 cold is way too high for optimal traction.

You're overthinking this. It's your first visit to the track -- just show up, drive, and have fun.

Exactly.

I run 32 cold F & R. I seem to gain about 10psi in a 20 min session.
