Default Trunk lid vs Big wing

Hello guys. I've searched and searched and can't find a thread showing any step by steps, or a definitive way, to keep my AP1 trunk lid from bending under the stresses of my new APR GTC-300 wing; once I install it. If such a thread exist, or such a formula had been proven to work and stood the test of time, preferably at the track, can someone please point me in the right direction? I've got the time, since it's winter here, and would really like to try and get this right. Thank you.

Just don't go above 60 mph and you'll be fine.

The real bending happens around 155 mph. Stay under that and you will be fine.

Could one expect truck bowing with Voltex GT Wing (Center Mount) - Type 7 with 1700mm wing span? Vortex comes with truck support plates.

Well shucks. Would have thought there was some mod people were doing, or some third party support piece you could buy, or something like that. There's nothing out there then? At one of the tracks I top out at about 120mph, and another about 130mph, and I have a few months to figure something out...or just let it bend. Wonder if you can still buy a CR trunk lid from Honda?

I am not sure how the GTC-300 mounts, but if it's a center mount wing, you can use the J's Reinforcement kit, which should help

Go Tuning Unlimited

I believe you can also just buy the reinforcements used in the CR trunk lid, see this thread:

Or finally, RobRob did something similar to the CR reinforcements on his car, you can see his mods here:

That is a very nice wing. I was wondering how high you mounted it. It looks like Voltex has a choice 225mm and 275mm brackets plus an optional 30mm extension bracket. Was the extension bracket necessary to gain adjustability?

According to the spec, the Type 7 has a fairly deep 355mm cord; for reference, according to APR the GTC's max cord is about 305mm. Was it easy to create balancing downforce in the front?

Thanks,

David

Current plan is looking into ordering the extra rubber stoppers, etc for the rain channels from the CR trunk lid. Called my local Honda dealer and they still sell them. Then my buddy says he thinks his shop can make/fabricate a bracket for under the trunk lid for some additional support. So we'll see.
