I too am a convert from FWD. While there is going to be a learning curve I don't see if necessary to over engineer it to overcome a small problem. You are going to spin the car, it's going to happen whether you have 245 or 265's on the rear, the trailing throttle oversteer is still going to get you. It couldn't be more simple than finding what works for the fast guys, copying that then learning to drive that set-up, why try to re-invent the wheel?
If you are worried about tires, start out on Kumhos, they are cheaper.
