I was at VIR this past weekend for a DE and got roughly 5 hours on track. Top speed on the back straight was roughly 150mph depending on how much speed I could carry through oak tree. Car has aero, is comptech supercharged, R comps, 4.56R gears, stock F20c with AP2 tranny. I would enter the climbing esses at 128-130mph. Great track, s2k did really well.

I asked some of the race prepped 996 Turbo participants about top speed and its in the low to mid 160's.

 

When I was there with 9KI4's Honda Challenge 1 AP1 I saw about 135 downt the back straight, And held 129 all through the uphill esses.

 

What kind of power mods did the car have (or lots of weight loss)? I can't seem to hit close to 129 at the bottom of the esses (full throttle coming out of T4 to the Esses but getting a fair amount of wheelspin in the carousel and a brief lift before T6), and have not seen over 119mph at the top.

 

It was Matt Edmister's car bone stock motor with 95,xxx miles on it stock computer and just a header and an exhaust, I think the weekend I ran it, it weighed in at 2580 with me in it.

 

That is a pretty light car. My car has a bone stock engine and weighs 2750 (without me and a with a full tank of gas) but I guess there is more speed in the Esss than I thought. I did not particularly like the feeling at the top of the Esss at ~120, must have felt pretty sloppy at 129mph.
