Default Weld in Rollcage

A friend recently bought an s2000 and is converting it to a track car. What do you guys think of this cage?

Why not have a proper cage built to his specs/seat... rather than buy a compromised off the shelf item that still requires a welder/fabricator?

If you want a good OTS solution, look at Hard Dog.

I've gotten two IO Port cages... one for a CRX and one for a Chump Car MX3.

The CRX had interior, while the MX3 was gutted.
With the CRX, it fit well, had all the proper tubes, although welding it in was apparently a pain (I didn't do it). Add $500+ for getting it welded in.

The MX3, different story. the bars were not bent the same, we were missing a dash bar, the cage needed to be pushed out more for more room.

My recommendation is, if you're keeping the interior and want a cookie-cutter cage that will pass tech, get the IO Port one. When I caged the CRX, I was on a severely limited budget.
If you want a good quality cage, built to your specs... get it custom made. It may be a $1000 more, but it'll be worth it.

this cage looks....none so good. If he is going to have it fully caged, have the seat he is going to use in the position it is going to be driven and the top that is going to be used installed on the car. A good cage builder will be able to accommodate those parameters. PM me if you want pictures of the cage in my S2000.
