yup. the tire stops the car, not the brake pad.

I too will chime in with an endorsement for OEM rotors. For the decade I ran the CRX-SiR I tried a variety of things, and always came back to OEM rotors. With the S I decided it was just a waste of money experimenting again, so I use OEM rotors on the S2000. As others have said, they are a wear item, and at the frequency I replace them I like the price of OEM very much. The only thing I wish they were plated or something so my wheels don't get covered in rust from the center vanes, but that is my only complaint.
I got a set of cryo treated, cad plated OEM blanks for my car. They are sitting in my house just waiting for me to install them (I figure I will also install the Stoptech SS lines that have been sitting in my house for over a year . Seriously though, I figure this will be the best compromise, great braking (because they are OEM blanks), increased life (cryo treating) and no rust (cad plating). The plating should hold up fine for autoX (which is primarily what I do), I'll throw my old rotors back on for the occasional HPDE day (<3-4 days per summer) since the higher track temps might melt it off.
