Default Will Swapping Wheels for Track Mess with Alignment?

Hey guyssss! I have a track setup at the moment 17x8+42 (235/40) 17x9+38 (255/40). I am in the process of building a set of 3pc wheels and aiming at F: 18x9 +35 or 18x9.5+41; R: 18x9.5+41. Really want to go square but fender clearance is always the issue.

Anyway, my alignment is set for the track as of now, so if I swap wheels to the 3pc and then swap back for the track a few weeks later, will it mess up any alignment specs?

Another thought was to take my current track spec wheels and get another set of track wheels similiar in spec to the 3pc to prevent any misalighnment.

Any suggestions would help!

Wheel specs will not alter alignment.

Not even if they're wider? I know you definitley need one for direct suspension components (tie rods, coilovers, ball joints, etc). I was told any time you swap wheels, tires you need an alighnment

Where you told this by a shop that does alignments? If so ... find a new alignment guy.

I mean, for different size wheels it might be desirable to have a different alignment... but just the act of changing wheels isn't going to somehow alter the existing alignment, which just depends on the suspension geometry. (I mean, think about removing lug nuts, taking off wheel, putting on wheel, tightening on lug nuts... obviously none of that is going to change the suspension geometry.)

A bigger issue would be that your optimal alignment for track driving is going to be different than for street driving. If you have a track alignment now, you're probably getting a fair amount of camber wear if you do significant street driving.
