Default WOT A/F ratio

How abnormal is an A/F ratio of 12 on WOT in VTEC. My car has IHE--otherwise stock engine.

12:1 sounds pretty safe for a N/A engine, maybe even a tad rich. I think you can have up to 13:1 for a N/A engine and 11-12:1 for forced induction.

I think it was a narrow band o2 sensor and it was on the header. How would a vafc fix this. And wouldnt that bump me out of H1 into HU

ohh narrow band is useless, it just tells you if you're too lean or too rich, not much inbetween. get a wide band in the there before you make changes. Just go to your local dyno shop and have them give you your a/f #'s from a couple runs.

If you're still low, throw on a test pipe. That'll put you leaner for sure.

Test Pipe will make your car run lean? Mine is rich also...stock when I tested it.

I have a test pipe on the car now, but didn't think it was significant enough mod to go to the dyno again. It certainly smells more rich.

I got my readings from the Dyno, through that prod they stick up the exhaust of the car.

Will getting a less rich setting gain power on the car?
