the track is putnam park @ indiana
i just dont want to have waste 1/2 the pad
like i said, im on a budget! now im thinking brake fluid swap before the track and changing pads when i need to @ the track...

1/2 pad thickness left does NOT mean you have 1/2 the track life left in them. Stock pads in particular should be considered "done" with 1/4 or even 1/3 pad thickness remaining. As far as track life is concerned, your 1/2 worn pads are really more like 70-80% done.
No reason not to install the new ones before you go to the track. You can throw the 1/2 pads back in and use them up on the street later.
