Grand Am Cup down at Daytona this past weekend - dookey happens, even to our beloved S2000's

 

As I heard it (take it with a 50# bag of salt) that was one of two TC Kline cars running ST1 at the Grand Am as mentioned aboved. Car #1 with the "A" drivers ran without issue and finished 5th in class in their first hurried outing. Car #2 with drivers 2A and 2B had some issues as seen above. In practice driver 2A went out for a few laps and then the results above. After a long search, a replacement Z4 motor was installed and readied for the race the next day. Driver 2B went out and did his stint without issue. Driver 2A gets in the car and within a few laps same result again; both times the dreaded BMW downshift over-rev smacking all the valves with the pistons.
