DONT' WORRY! I have a friend who has a Eclipse GSX and we always freeway race. he has stock turbo, intake, downpipe, exhaust I still beat him! we launch at 65-70 all the way to about 120 and I leave him by 4 cars. I have intake headers exhaust suspension.
Off the line though he jumps at me thenI catch up and still beat him!

alright my buddy has this 98 GST with a K&N air filter saying that boosts him another 15hp and we're headin' to Road America this weekend and takin it out on the track....he thinks he's gonna smoke me, I just really don't see it happening, I'm just curious what you guys think...
thanks
I hope you know how to drive your car on the track. If so, he has no chance whatsoever.

But a very good driver in a Miata will beat a so-so driver in an S2000 on a race track...

Guys, they are going to Road America, not to a drag strip and not to a highway race.

Race track = 80% driver, 20% car.

It is a lot harder to drive a DSM fast than it is to drive a S2000 fast. My last Talon was setup for road-racing and it did quite well, but only after a lot of tweaking and tons of practice.

In stock form, a '98 GS-T handles like poop. My mom used to have a '97 GSX. Quick in a straight line, but it pushed and leaned like a Buick Regal around turns. His 18's and lowering springs are for show and not go, so I doubt they're going to help.

I know a guy who beat a bunch of our S2000's (including Westmaster's supercharged one) in a freakin' '91 Honda Accord in autocross. Don't tell me an Accord handles better than a DSM.

Racing on the track = 80% driver, 20% car. If he's not a much better driver than you, you'll beat him, but if he is, you'll lose.

A couple of months ago I managed to beat a 360 Modena on TWS. I am by no means a great driver but I was obviously much better than the guy driving the Modena.

If a difference between an S2000 and a Modena can be eliminated by one driver being much better than the other, you bet your ass that the same can happen between a DSM and an S2000.
