13.66 for stock S2000!!!
There is this guy at our bimmerforums.com who has a lot of experience in drag race scene.
He is the one that ran 12.56 on a stock S54 M Roadster before.
Now he has outdone himself and drove his friend's S2000 and registered 13.66!!!
He also registered 14.11 for his new Acura CL Type S 6 speed. That is fast enough to give most S2000s a run for its money.
There goes another proof. Driver makes a LOT of difference. A LOT.
p.s. If you want to read about it, go to www.bimmerforums.com and go to "kill" section.

Great, this post is going to breed another batch of S2000 ricers out there.
I will be looking forward to reading, "Stock S2000 just took out an LS1" thread.
Now the ricers will take that 13.66 and make it sound like its a daily occurance.
M Power, you should perhaps tell everyone that the S2000 that ran a 13.66 was at ATCO. One of the East Coast finest tracks. Tracks where LS1's run low 12's with traction and minor bolt-ons.
About 90% of the So Cal S2000 crowd will never see anything past 14.0 in a Bone Stock S2000 with stock rubbers.
It is true that driver makes a BIG difference, but it also takes a GREAT track to give you great numbers. Driver just learns to adapt to the track better than others.
Unicron
Contrary to popular belief, reaction time DOES NOT affect E.T.
I can sit there and stare at the green light all day and still run the same E.T. as someone who cut a .500 reaction time. He will be ahead, but we will run the same E.T.

Of course, that doesn't mean we can all run 13.66 in our cars.

I'd expect the CLS to be right around those numbers.
I also think they would give a stock S2000 a run for their money.

I don't see why it's hard to believe the CL running that time. That's what it should run on average I would think. If you think about it, that car weighs about the same as a Mustang GT and makes the same horsepower, and has better gearing. What does a stock Mustang GT run? Around 13.8-14.2 well driven, right?
