Default 1999 auto c5

I'm 21 this guy at work is 43 and drives a 1999 automatic c5. He keeps talking shit about how my s2000 is a POS and how his corvette is "so fast."

My s2k has
-t1r pullies
-toda torquie-kun header
-t1r 70mm
berk HFC
KN FIPK intake

with out the header, HFC and pullies I put down 209/141 to the wheels.

The s2k wieghts 2592LBS

I'm on rs-3 tires (255/40 on 949racing 17x9 wheels (16.8LBS wheels)

his car-
stock
auto
all-season

Who would win? I want to call him out, hes double my age he should have a nicer car then me. But in reality my s2k cost me 12 last year and has about 18,000 (mainly suspention stuff) in parts. So $30,000 total. I can buy his POS for $15,000 all day long. So I don't get why he thinks his corvelle is so badass.

Why can't you both just appreciate each others cars?

You'd be giving up roughly 3lb/hp to the vette. That, and the vette has 350 ft/lbs. of torque.

It is a heavier car, and an auto....but I think the vette would have the edge.

A friend has a 95 vette, and I'm pretty sure he'd have my 06 ap2...at least in a straight line.

You'll get folks like that. It's cool though...because with less than half the displacement, and half the cylinders......on a twisty road....it would largely come down to driver skills.

That, and you can't get it through to those kind that the S is fantastic for what it was designed for. Competing against the vette was not one of the design criteria.

Just tell him to go play with his vette and have fun. I like vette's, but hate those kind of people.

If your friends vette is anywhere near stock, this is completely wrong, have some faith in the little 4 banger

Those were some quick calculations based on numbers given in the OP's first post, and from 1999 C5 Vette specs I could quickly find online.

If I'm wrong, enlighten me, but put some numbers up to show what I got wrong.

However, if you think a S2000 with bolt-ons is going to walk away from a vette in a straight line.....not going to happen.

The S2000 is a great car, and I love mine.....but there are faster cars out there.

Is it an ls1 vette?

My friend has a 2002 vette with muffler delete and some zip tie mod. IDK WTF that is but thats what he says he has and he went 12.8

If its an ls1, idk....even auto but worth a shot cause the guy sounds like a total tool who thinks hes ballin cause he has a 10 year old vette.

Honestly **** that guy.
