Default 3 races this week (long)

The weather has been nice and I have been driving the stook a little bit more. I had two races today and one on Thursday. Please no flaming on the first race, I know it was an accord!

1)I was driving in to work cruising about 65 and then a white accord came up behind and passed me going about 100. I sped up a little in 6th then threw it into 3rd and then 4th, then 5th and wen't flying past my BOSS like he was stopped. I couldn't let my boss beat me in his accord. It was the 4 banger also. We joked about it at work and are just glad no cops caught us are we would be having the staff bail us both out of jail

2) I was on the highway going about 60 and pulled up beside a 90s mustang. I saw the 5.0 on the side. I hate Ponys so when he reved it up, I left him by about 4 car links by the time I was hitting 8.5k in 4th and then switched to fifth just for good measures but he had given it up. I slowed down to let him catch up but then he pulled off the next exit.

3) Recent model firebird. I have know idea about this firebird and it doesn't really qualify as a race. I was behind him on a neighborhood road. He turned on a back road that is known for speed demons. He gunned it as soon as he turned. He had about 3 or 4 cars before I knew what happened. I will say that his card sounded good. I feel sure he at least had after market headers and exhaust. I threw it into first from second and then into 2nd. Once I was around 9,000 in 2nd, I was right on his tail. I probably would have been able to pass him on the long straight away but a cop was over to the side road. I had already grabbed my radar and threw it on the floorboard in case I got stopped. The Firebird pulled down one road and I pulled off another. I don't think the cop turned around or he could have busted us both.

A couple of comments:

1) I had just waxed my car and had it looking sharp but everyone seems to want to race the stook. I usually only go after stangs as I hate them with a passion. I guess too many people have seen the fast and furious!

2) I have seen a lot of posts where it seems like everyone is racing Accords, Civics, etc., including myself on one occassion. However I say go after the big American V8s with the exception of Vettes, Vipers, and anything with Monster HP. I have had no problems as of yet with Stangs, Firebirds, or Camaros. I just love to tell them later that mine is just a 4 banger with minor mods.

3) I would like to get my car dynoed. I am curious is mine puts out a little more hp by some freak. It probably doesn't but after reading posts on people getting beat by some relatively weak cars, I am a litle surprised.

4) I do have some rules for racing:
a) Never race from a dead stop. The stook is not a drag racer and it is not worth the wear on the clutch.
b) Never race from a rolling start. You are giving most other cars a nice lead that way.
c) I pick my races and I like it on the highway or back road with curves because the stook is great for throwing down in a low gear and leaving other cars and there are not many cars on the market that can stay with it around a curve.

5) I know there are cars that will leave the stook but you get in a race stock stook vs most other stock cars, you can at the very least hang with V8s if you push your car hard.

You race however you want! I am just saying for me I prefer to race from a moving start. I find it more fun and less wear on the clutch from going 50. Besides the highway is where i get most of the people who try to race.

BTW, I checked out the specs on 5.7 liter Firebird. It only does a low 14 in 1/4.
